Course Description
The CA POST swat standards Appendix B Section 2-U lists rappelling and ascending rope, both rural and urban, as core competencies. Included as well is Airborne Fast-Roping and STABO operations. To create a team rope training standard the team should have an in-house rope manager who understands the context of what situations require rope access/rescue skills, how well the team is trained and what equipment and ropes the team will use for specific operations. We will discuss how the CATO rope training program compares to rope access association’s best practices in regards to basic training core content, refresher training and recertification.
